Top High Paying Affiliate Programs for Bloggers

There are numerous ways for bloggers to make money. Whether you want to make a few hundred dollars a month, or a few thousand; you can do so with the right plan.

High earning bloggers often implement multiple strategies. For example, you can make money with advertisements, sponsored posts, your own products, memberships, services, and affiliate marketing.

The focus of this post is on affiliate marketing and affiliate programs that pay top dollar for your efforts.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

If you are currently blogging for money, or for business, you’ve probably already heard of affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s products. These products range from e-books and courses, to online tools and physical products or services.

Oftentimes your commission is a percentage of the product cost. Therefore, the higher the product cost and commission percentage; the more you’ll make. If you advertise a low cost product with a 5% commission, you’ll earn money much more slowly than with a high paying affiliate program.

How to Choose The Right Affiliate Program

The number one criteria, when choosing an affiliate program, is to decide whether the company/product/service will serve your readers.

First of all, it doesn’t make any sense to promote a product that your readers won’t be interested in. You’ll end up wasting a lot of time and effort on a product few people will buy, resulting in less commissions.

Secondly, you may lose your readers trust. And this is something you don’t want to do. Therefore, make sure that the product or service serves your readership well.

The next criteria, in choosing an affiliate program, are the rules of the program itself.

For Example:
  1. How much do you have to earn before you are paid?
  2. How will you be paid?
  3. When does a buyer have to make a purchase (after clicking your affiliate link) for you to earn a commission?

Above all, another super important thing to mention is that you should never pay to join an affiliate program. There are so many available that are free. In fact, if a company asks you to pay them, I would consider that a red flag.

Lastly, as mentioned above, you want to look for high paying affiliate products. You will make so much more money, for your efforts, if you focus on a few top paying affiliate programs rather than many low paying products and programs.

These are just a few things that you need to think about.

How to Market Affiliate Products

Affiliate Programs for Bloggers

Once you’ve chosen a few high paying affiliate programs to work with, you’ll want to start marketing their products. The best way to do this is through testimonials and blog posts. For instance, if you are a user of, or have tried, the product you are marketing; write a thorough review. Testimonials are a great way to show readers how a product works, and why it might work for them too. In addition, it lets readers know that you stand by (and have tried) what you are recommending.

If you have not tried the product or service, make that clear. Instead of a testimonial, write a blog post. Outline why you think the product, you are marketing, might be a good fit for your readers.

Another way to market affiliate products is to develop a Resources Page on your blog. Here you can list all of the resources you think might help your readers.

Some affiliate companies allow affiliate links in e-mail campaigns and social media. If you have a large e-mail list, or social media following, this can be a quick and easy way to make affiliate sales.

Lastly, you can also place affiliate links and ads in the sidebar of your blog. Most high paying affiliate programs will make banners available to you, to place on your blog.

FTC Guidelines and Rules

The US Federal Trade Commission has rules regarding advertising and affiliate marketing. Visit the FTC website for the most up to date information. (If you are outside of the US, your country might have its own set of rules.)

In conclusion, your affiliate program might also have their own rules. These rules usually stress making it obvious that you are promoting a product, or service, and that you might receive a commission. Make sure you read the fine print for each affiliate program that you join.

Top High Paying Affiliate Programs for Bloggers

Top Paying Affiliate Programs

Following are some of the best affiliate programs for bloggers. I’ve listed each programs commission rate, where available. Keep in mind that commission rates do change from time to time.

Links are highlighted in bold so that you can visit each affiliate site for more detailed information about their products and services.

Affiliate Marketing Companies

Affiliate marketing companies (or networks) represent a variety of companies. In other words, you join one of these networks and instantly have access to hundreds of affiliate marketing programs.

Once you are accepted, you typically have to apply to each program that you are interested in. Some programs auto approve applicants, and some look over your website and information.

When applying to programs, make sure you fill out all information asked and write up a brief summary of how to plan to market a company’s product or service. This will give you the best chance at getting accepted.

Following are three of my favorite affiliate marketing networks.

ShareASale

ShareASale is one of my favorite affiliate marketing networks. I’ve found their platform easy to use, and I’ve never had an issue with payments. They have hundreds of companies that they represent. You can search their database to find the perfect high paying affiliate program for you and your niche.

Some of the best programs for bloggers are:

WP Engine: WP Engine offers managed WordPress hosting. They offer $200 per sale.

Restored 316: Restored 316 offers feminine WordPress themes for the female entrepreneur. They offer a 20% commission per sale.

Tailwind: Tailwind is the preferred Pinterest and Instagram scheduling tool. They offer a 15% commission per sale.

WP Tasty: WP Tasty creates handcrafted plugins for food blogs. They offer a 30% commission per sale.

WP Forms: WP Forms offers one of the best beginner friendly, drag and drop, WordPress form plugins. They offer a 20% commission per sale.

CreativeLive: CreativeLive offers courses for creatives. From crafting, to photography, to art, design, and illustration; they have it all. CreativeLive offers a 20% commission per sale.

Impact Radius

Impact Radius is another company that has numerous opportunities and represents a variety of popular brands and products.

Some of the best programs for bloggers are:

Awin

Awin is another affiliate marketing network. They also have several affiliate products and programs to choose from. I’m fairly new to Awin. Therefore I will update this section as I come across high paying affiliate programs. I have heard of some bloggers having issues with payments, so keep that in mind if you choose to apply.

Some of the best programs for bloggers are:

Fiverr: Fiverr offers a variety of on demand freelance services. If you need an inexpensive logo designed fast, go to Fiverr. They offer a $20-$150 CPA commission rate for each first time buyer.

Awin also has a lot of travel related companies they work with, making them perfect for a travel blogger. You can check out my recommended travel affiliate programs later in this post.

CJ Affiliate

CJ Affiliate is the third affiliate marketing network on my list. I am also quite new to CJ Affiliates, therefore I will be updating this section as I come across other high paying affiliate programs. However, keep in mind that CJ Affiliate will close your account if you do not make a sale within six months. You can reapply and they will reinstate your account if this happens.

Some of the best programs for bloggers are:

Grammarly: Grammarly is an online tool that helps you to make sure that your writing is error free. It’s perfect for bloggers and writers. They offer a $20 commission per sale.

Highest Paying Affiliate Programs

These are a few of my favorite high paying affiliate programs for bloggers. The key to marketing a high paying affiliate program is to do an honest and detailed blog post and/or review. For instance, my best blogging courses post covers Dare to Conquer in great detail.

When you do a detailed review, that is search engine optimized, you’ll get more eyes on your post and hopefully more sales.

BlueHost

BlueHost is the number one hosting service for WordPress blogs. They offer reasonable rates, a one-click install of WordPress, and top notch customer service; making them a great affiliate partner. The affiliate payout is $65 per sign-up.

SEMRush

SEMRush is an online SEO tool that can help you find profitable and niche keywords for your blog. Track your competitors’ keywords, find keywords YOU can rank for, and more. They have an in house affiliate program for bloggers, and they offer 40% of sales, ongoing.

Amazon Associates

Amazon Associates offers a 1% to 10% commission, depending upon the product category. While that is not a high commission, I still consider the program a high paying one due to the fact that they have thousands of products you can market. AND your reader doesn’t have to purchase the product you are marketing. If they click on your link, but purchase something else, you still earn a commission.

Therefore, if you are smart about how you write your posts, and how you include affiliate links, you can make a lot of money with Amazon Associates. For example, if you are writing a recipe, link to ingredients and products on Amazon. If you are doing a craft or beauty tutorial, link to books and products on Amazon. It’s that simple.

  1. Thanks for this Ruth. It’s been a big help. I’m still new to all this and actually tried affiliate marketing through Amazon and it’s not been going too good. Saved your post to come back to it for more help.
Thank you again for this basic but helpful information.

    1. Thanks D! Amazon can be tough. The key is to link to Amazon products naturally in posts.
For example, if you write a recipe; link to ingredient products on Amazon in your post.
Do this regularly, over time, and those links start to add up. Hope that helps!

  2. I love Ultimate Bundles and I’m going to look into longtail pro. I’ve been learning about keyword research and I think it could help! Thanks for your list!
